Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Issue with Ajax Contact on Joomla 1.7

12 years 9 months ago - 12 years 9 months ago #7724 by rgcalo
Hi! I've used Ajax Contact for sites in Joomla 1.5 through 1. 7. I absolutely love it and must have installed it on 10 sites by now - but have run into a problem with Joomla 1.7.

It doesn't install correctly. The attached screenshot shows what it does to the menu panels in the Module administrator area.

The second issue is that it will not display in a {loadposition } location. At least, not when I am using it with tech.reumer.net's Google Maps plugin - since I tend to place the two next to each other in a table.

The third issue, is that although it works and will submit fine (when not associated with the Google Map plugin), the email it sends does not contain the language file output.

I wish I could say this was confined to one site, but the problem has recurred on three sites I am developing in Joomla 1.7.

I'm using mod_site_ajaxcontact_1.6.1__20110722_1058
Joomla 1.7
Php version: 5.2.17

Thanks,

Rich

Dear Rich,

1. The PrintSecreen is missing. I've just installed on a Joomla 1.7 for testing reasons using Joomla default template and it worked correctly;

2. It should load using the { loadposition } plugin. Is it published in that position and assigned all pages? The Menu (page) assignment is a bit different from Joomla 1.5. Please make sure it is set to display in all pages (at least for testing reasons) in the Module parameters;
It might be also a design/css problem (hiding the content);

3. I've installed and tested the latest version just now and it is working. If you are still having language related problems, please make sure the file is in [Path to Joomla 1.7]/language/en-GB/en-GB.mod_ajaxcontact.ini.
if it is not there you can copy from the installation package and upload to that location.

All the best,
