Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Postcode restriction to Australia & NZ only

7 years 6 months ago #22394 by AtuArt
Hello,

I have installed and set up the plugin and uploaded all info via csv file. All working fine if I enter the name of my location (Eltham), the results get displayed correctly. However if I enter my postcode (3095), the location displayed is in the USA, which is incorrect, it is supposed to be in Australia. Is there any way how to restrict the results to Australia and New Zealand locations only?

Thanks, Camilla

Dear Camilla,

I've been searching for the best way to accomplish this, however Google Maps API only allows to use componentRestrictions for one country at that time. Will that help?

What I can do instead is create a Country select list (based on the countries in the CSV file) in order to allow the user to search for specific countries. What do you think?

Best regards,

Hi Douglas,

thank you for your reply. With the Country select list do you mean another drop down similar to the range to select the Country? If that's the case, I think it would work...

Thank you, Camilla

Dear Camilla,

I've been studying the possibility to add such dropdown, however it will decrease iStoreLocator performance drastically, specially for those who are NOT using Contact Enhanced Component as the source.

Best regards,

Hi Douglas,

can you please elaborate a little bit more? We do not intend to use the Contact Enhanced Component but I ned to find a solution for the postcode search... Would you have any other suggestion then? Could we have 2 instances of the search then, one for NZ and one for AU?

Thank you, Camilla

Dear Camilla,

Since you can load two instances in two different pages I've created an option for you. Use the following syntax to restrict the search for only one country.
{istorelocator height=|600| componentRestrictions=|country:'AU'| }
Unfortunately Google Maps API does not provide a method to restrict a search for multiple countries at the same time.

I'll send a new package to your email in a few minutes.

Best regards,
