Support Forum

Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Hi,
i purchased your extension, because i saw that your script supports joomla 2.5, but i couldn't found the download link for 2.5 compatible version.

Actually it is still in beta and I'll plan to release it in two weeks or so.

I'll send it to you in a couple of minutes;

Dear Havin,

I have the Name Meaning Component working for Joomla on this website below (in Portuguese), I have just tested with the characters mentioned and it worked without any problems.
vidademulher.com.br/canais/mae...lhos/significado-de-nomes.html

All Joomla database tables by default uses utf8_general_ci collation and it ignores accented characters replacing them by the equivalent non-accented character; That's why it works without any change;

All the best,

i am testing the extension offline. I don't have any problems with non english contained charakters. but when the names starts with a non english charakter like Ç, the searched name isn't listed in the search results.

Dear Havin,

That's strange, because it is working locally.

Does it work if the non-English character is in the middle of the name instead of the first letter?

Yes. My Alphalist looks like A, B, C, Ç, D etc. When I select Ç, i get the names with C listed.

Best regards

Havin

Dear Havin,

Yes, that's how the utf8_general_ci database collation works;

We can change the collation for the name field OR change it for the search only, OR change it in the search, which I just did, tested and sent to your email address;

Thank you for the solution. It works, but i have an another problem. As soon as I activate sef then all pages works, your extension also. But selecting a letter from alphalist returns 404 error. My link looks like this: http://localhost/babynames/baby-names/starting-with-f

Dear Havin,

Your page is on your local server, therefore I cannot access it.

Are you using any third party SEF extension?

Best regards,
