Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Only one 'Name' Field type is allowed per category

I have been trying to create custom fields with the field types being either 'name' or 'email'. Every time I try to save I get the error:

Save failed with the following error: Only one 'Name' Field type is allowed per category.

I have not created any 'email' or 'name' field types in any category since it has never allowed me; forcing me to create 'text fields' instead.
I have also checked to see if there is any pre-built field with either one of those field types and there was none.

What else could be causing that error?

Dear logicmasys,

There are two situations this error will appear:

1. You already have this form field type in this category you want to add.
--- It might be a trashed item, so you might need to filter by Trashed, select the fields and either empty trash or enable them; OR

2. Contact Enhanced creates Name, Email and Subject fields when you install the component and assign those fields to All Categories, therefore even though you might not have a Name field assigned to this specific category it might be assigned to all categories.

You were correct. The fields were category "All" fields in the trash. As soon as I erased them it worked. Thank you very much for your assistance!
