Every time that you post a problem, PLEASE add the Joomla and the extension's versions and revisions (for example: Joomla 3.3.6, Contact Enhanced 3.3.5), PHP version and Server's Operating System. If you only manage only one site it is easier if you edit your profile and just add that information to your signature. Don't forget to add a detailed description of the problem. If possible, write down all steps to simulate the problem.

Before submitting a new post, PLEASE make sure you are running the latest version, test in different browsers (IE, FF, Chrome,..) and clear Joomla and browser's cache after every change you make.

Also, most questions are already answered in our FAQ and in iFAQ and Contact Enhanced documentation pages.

Thank you, this has been executed and now throws no errors.
Because of the categories: They were the categories that were created for contact forms at that time. I checked the database but did not find any table related to ce_categories. When I looked in the old one, I didn't find anything either, only in the #__categories I found it. In the new Joomla these entries simply didn't exist anymore, for whatever reason. So I edited the database table with a text edit after I exported the new and old. The entries were there, but still did not appear.
Then I created a category for test purposes and looked what happens in the database. In the table in the line extension I have to change the entry "com_contactenhanced" to "com_contactenhanced.contacts".

now a few fields are not correct anymore, but that should be the smallest problem, contactformualr is displayed again, that's already very good.

For some reason, the update script didn't run correctly for your update. I'm checking and testing it and I could not reproduce the error.
Now we have two sets of categories, one for Contacts and Form Fields and another for Canned Answers

Anyway, for reference, you can run the SQL statement below to fix this issue.
UPDATE `#__categories` SET `extension` = 'com_contactenhanced.contacts' WHERE `extension` = 'com_contactenhanced'

Thank you very much. The whole thing would not have worked, because the entries were strangely not present at the db, I had copied these from the old database and then adjusted the column "extension".

but now we are satisfied and thank you for your extensive support!
